Keep recruiting, and let local firms grow
Build on $415 million in investment and 727 jobs by keeping corridor zoning workable for employers who want to expand where they already operate, and by competing seriously for projects that fit the county.
Finish the facility, hold the ISO gain
Take the new public safety facility from bid to ribbon, complete the $40 million detention center renovation, keep the Sheriff’s Office fully staffed, and protect the Class 4 ISO rating that is lowering homeowners insurance across the county.
Work the chokepoints, one at a time
No county government stops the Ohio River. What it can do is clear the blockages, maintain the ditches and culverts, and get there before the rain does. The drainage commission and its equipment are funded; the next four years are about the worst sites in order of severity.
Keep paving, and finish what broadband started
Maintain the resurfacing pace of roughly thirteen miles a year, keep after the bridges and right-of-way, and make sure the countywide fiber build delivers the service rural households were promised.
Open the Senior Center and keep the parks working
Get the new Senior Community Center fully open with the county’s $2.5 million behind it, and keep investing in the parks and programs that make this a place young families choose and older families stay.
